About

Kayla Kennedy is an aspiring advertising and marketing guru who relishes in bringing people together. She first fell in love with connecting others in her High School TV Production class. She enjoyed unifying students by helping others share their stories from a unique perspective. She turned her elective class into a career path as she enrolled into The Scripps Howard School of Journalism at Hampton University majoring in journalism and double minoring in leadership studies and marketing.

Kayla’s personal mission statement is “To live strong in faith while being the beacon of light for others.” She hopes to illuminate the lives of others through her efforts of connecting others using all elements of communication. Kayla enjoys shedding her light through her extracurriculars. Kayla has coordinated social events for Hampton’s Hottest class through her role as Miss Senior Attendant. She has contributed to the WHOV radio, WHOV TV and HerCampus online magazine. She is also a career center ambassador and National Hampton Alumni Association Endowed Scholar, a proud William R Harvey Leadership Institute fellow, and serves as a co-facilitator of the Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Program. Kayla has also participated in a virtual pageant during the pandemic in which she was crowned Miss 1911 of the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Through her studies as an undergraduate, Kayla has mastered the efficiency of telling stories and shedding light on the unique pieces of life and experiences. Kayla aspires to become an expert in aiding companies in nurturing that relationship, offering audiences and communities the best experiences it has to offer. Helping brands become part of lasting memories of society is her ultimate goal.
